One of the highlights of visiting Prasae in Rayong is the 2,400 acre mangrove forest along the coastline. This project is not only important to prevent land erosion but is also the source of income for local people who fish here for crab, shrimp and other marine animals. The mangrove also plays an important part in local ecotourism due to the 2.6km long boardwalk. The walk starts at HTMS Prasae and takes you through the forest and along the coastline. The highlight of the walk is Tung Prong Thong which means golden field in Thai.

The ancient temple has been built more than 600 years ago. The most attractive aspect is a long reclining Buddha, 11.95 meters long and 3.6 meters high. Unlike other reclining statues, it lies on the left instead of usual right.

Commemorate Sunthorn Phu, Thai’s greatest poet who was native of Rayong, his literary works wrote more than 200 years ago.
